I agree that part II is the more entertaining movie by a landslide. But part 1 as such a dark chamber thriller is my true love. Hellraiser I and II feel much like comparing Alien and Aliens in my eyes. One is about the atmosphere, the other turns its theme into a more active rollercoaster.
