Episode 55: House of 1000 Rejects from Hell

Bret, David, and Alan recap their recent trip to California, where they hit up Son of Monsterpalooza in Burbank, and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Then they board Captain Spaulding’s Murder Ride for a discussion of Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses (2003), The Devil’s Rejects (2005), and 3 From Hell (2019).

Rob Zombie movies are really hit or miss for me. But even when they miss, I really like what he’s going for almost all the time. House of 1000 Corpses was a fun love letter to TCM2 in my eyes, but The Devil’s Rejects just didn’t do it for me. I enjoyed his Halloween movies (despite some over-exposition in the backstory), but thought 31 was, for lack of a better word, lame. In either case, I enjoyed your discussion (as usual) in this episode and look forward to 3 from Hell.

Thanks! Yeah, 31 was pretty awful. I remember being really excited to see it, and then being massively disappointed. – David
