For their fortieth episode, Bret, David, and Alan make a list of everyone who’s ever wronged them, and discuss two revenge-themed horror films that were released forty years apart: I Spit on Your Grave (1978) and Mandy (2018).
While this episode deals with what is likely the heaviest topic The Swearwolves have ever tackled: rape (hopefully you’ll agree that it was done with careful regard) – it also boasts the largest collection of random songs the three have ever spontaneously busted out.
It’s such a good vibration! It’s such a sweet sensation!

Alan is my favorite Swearwolf. He hit the nail on the head with this. I totally agree with the 5. Mandy has quickly become one of my all-time favorites, but I understand it’s not for everyone. Panos is not just a filmmaker, but an artist. The calming peace of the beginning of the movie really sets the mood, and then when the killing happens, it ratchets up.
Also, I felt that the chainsaw scene was an homage to a classic scene from Phantasm II.
Sincerely,

Alan’s alright.
Mandy LOOKS amazing. There’s no denying that.
Yup, amazing sound, atmosphere, the performances are amazing all around…especially Linus Roache. I never expected him to ever do a role like this one. A movie like this isn’t just cut and dry, to be certain. It’s more art on the screen, akin to Lynch.
